Elizabeth W. Purrington, WHNP

Elizabeth is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and received her Master’s Degree at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and is a distinguished member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. 

She has practiced at Eastern Virginia Medical School at The Jones Institute as a Research Nurse Practitioner for oral contraceptives, reproductive techniques and chronic pelvic pain.  She also has worked at Langley Air Force Base, in private practice and at Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Virginia. 

Elizabeth has special interests in women’s healthcare across the lifespan beginning with adolescence.  She enjoys providing women with tools and information to maintain healthy lives based on their individual needs.  She prescribes oral contraceptives and Depo Provera, and places IUDs and Implanon.  She also performs biopsies, manages abnormal bleeding, and assists women through perimenopausal and menopausal stages of life.
