Maryellen has over 30 years of experience in gyn health care and over 25 years as a nurse practitioner. She has earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Villanova University, Women's Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Hampton University and a Masters of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University.
She has authored chapters in three textbooks, taught, and mentored master's level students and volunteers at Chesapeake Care Free Clinic. Maryellen has been recognized in several editions of Who's Who, Sigma Theta Tau and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies.
Maryellen's special interests are abnormal pap smears, vulvar pain and diseases, pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction. She performs colposcopies, biopsies and can prescribe or insert many types of birth control.
